Imports account for more than half of the Russian market for truck tires
The import share in the Russian market for truck tires reaches 60%, and foreign supplies are growing due to a strong ruble and a decrease in the key interest rate. Last year, the import of CCM tires decreased by 0.5% compared to 2024 and amounted to 3.6 million units, but this year the growth has resumed, and the majority of tires are supplied from China, which accounts for 94% of imports, according to "Cordiant".
According to the holding company, the average load of Russian truck tire plants last year was 60%, and in the first quarter of 2026, the production of CCM tires, which account for 64% of the market, decreased by 11% year-over-year. The production of truck tires of all types decreased by 6%.
The company also reports that in 2025, sales in the Russian market for truck tires fell by 12%, and the demand for combined-type tires fell the most - by 19%, while in the CCM segment, a decline of 10% was recorded. The reason was that sales of trucks in the country decreased by half over the year, and the tire market is also affected by economic stagnation and high rates for businesses.
Cordiant itself, with its brands (Cordiant Professional and TyRex All Steel - CCM, TyRex CRG - combined tires), in 2025 occupied 15% of the domestic market, increasing its share in the CCM tire segment from 14 to 15% "thanks to long-term relationships with partners and end-consumers".
In 2026, the company forecasts the preservation of the CCM tire market volumes at the level of 2025 - 5.2 million units.
