Hankook sponsors Korean robotics races for autonomous driving

The Autonomous Robot Racing 2023 - the only competition for autonomous driving robots in Korea, will be sponsored by Hankook Tire. During the competition, which is hosted by the Korea Robotics Society, self-driving cars must go through real-life scenarios without driver intervention and without the use of remote control.

Autonomous vehicles must be able to change lanes, overtake, and handle collisions with other vehicles. The autonomous technology of each vehicle is based on an artificial intelligence system.

A total of 15 teams from 11 universities are participating in the competition, which consists of three races and started on March 31. Hankook Tire supplies the Ventus Z205, an asphalt racing tire that provides excellent grip on both dry and wet roads.
