Hankook expands presence in rally racing

Over the next three seasons, Hankook, currently the tire supplier for the World Rally Championship (WRC) and several other international and national rally competitions, will also provide tires for all participants in the Belgian Rally Championship (BRC) in the RC2, RC3, and RC4 classes.

"Of course, we are very pleased and proud that Hankook will be a partner of the Belgian Championship," said Manfred Sandbichler, Senior Director of Hankook Motorsport. "The BRC is one of the strongest national rally championships in Europe, and it will serve as an excellent platform to showcase the performance and quality of our asphalt rally tires."

Hankook, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, currently supplies tires for more than 70 motorsport events worldwide.

Xavier Schyns, CEO of RACB Sport, the organizer of the BRC, added that Hankook tires "will be an attractive solution for competitors, as from 2025 the Korean manufacturer becomes the exclusive tire supplier for the world championship. Starting next season, WRC drivers will also have the opportunity to use the Belgian Championship rounds as part of their preparation for events in the world championship. In addition, Hankook tires are used in the junior category of the European Rally Championship."

"As promoters of the BRC, we are very happy that a global brand like Hankook has agreed to become the exclusive tire supplier for the series," said Stevie Courtoy, manager of BRC Promotion. "Competitive tires are a significant advantage that will help us control our teams' costs," he added.
