Hankook extends partnership with Borussia Dortmund

Company Hankook and the German football club Borussia Dortmund have extended their partnership, which began in 2009, for another two seasons. This makes the collaboration with the Korean tire manufacturer one of the longest-running in European football, the club's press service reported.

Hankook will continue advertising at Borussia's home stadium and will also supply tyres for the team's buses, for which special tyres with white brand logos have been produced. In addition, various fan contests and other events will be held.

"I am especially pleased that the team's buses will continue to be equipped with Hankook tires," said Manfred Soni, Sales Manager for Commercial Tires at Hankook Reifen Deutschland, adding that tire production for trucks and buses with an annual capacity of 800,000 units will be launched at the company's factory in Hungary, which "confirms our commitment to further growth in the European market."

Hankook's Marketing Director for the German division, Wonnie Chon, added that "seventeen years of partnership is no coincidence. Such long-term cooperation is based on trust and a shared commitment to continuously improving performance. Borussia stands for emotions, passion, and outstanding results—values that are equally important to Hankook. We always look forward with excitement to every new season we will spend together with the black and yellows."

According to Carsten Cramer, a member of Borussia's executive board, "Hankook understands what makes the Dortmund club special: the atmosphere in the stadium, the close relationship with fans, and the constant desire to inspire them. Such a long-term partnership is rare in football, and that's exactly why it's so valuable to us."
