Hankook and HWA expand partnership
In the 24-hour race at the German Nürburgring circuit, which will take place over the upcoming weekend, Hankook will equip the HWA EVO.R sedan of HWA AG, a company that develops racing cars and was founded by Hans-Werner Aufrecht, one of the co-founders of Mercedes-AMG.
Hankook will act as the official technical partner of HWA and will provide technical support throughout the racing weekend, and the HWA EVO.R, which will participate in the SP-X class, will be equipped with slick Ventus F200 tires, which are designed for use on dry pavement and stable operation in the extreme conditions of endurance racing.
At Hankook, it is noted that the F200 slicks have earned a high reputation in world motorsport and, thanks to the latest technologies, surpass the tires of the previous generation in a number of characteristics, and their weight has been reduced by 10%. "The tires are designed to provide maximum grip, stability at high speeds, and precise response to the driver's actions," the company says.

The joint participation in the 24-hour race will be an expansion of the strategic partnership between Hankook and HWA, and last year, the Korean brand's tires were approved for the HWA EVO small-series restomod. Currently, Hankook supplies several tire models for the EVO, including the summer Ventus evo Z and Ventus evo, as well as the winter Winter i*cept evo3, and the company claims that it intends to continue cooperating with HWA in both the primary equipment sector and motorsport in order to increase the competitiveness of its core brand.
Hankook supplies tires for more than 70 international racing competitions, such as the WRC, Formula E, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and the knowledge and experience gained in motorsport are later used by the research and development department to improve the parameters of civilian tires, which "strengthens the company's leading positions in the global market".
