Tire companies regularly collaborate with manufacturers from other industries, and most often this probably happens in the shoe industry, but there are also more unusual projects, and Hankook recently announced that it will release its second batch of Ball-Fit chair leg tips for camping, developed in conjunction with Helinox, a Korean brand of active leisure products.

The tips, designed to prevent chair legs from slipping and sinking into soft soil, are made from recycled rubber left over from the production of Hankook racing tires, and the middle part design was borrowed from the Hankook Dynapro XT off-road tires. The first batch was released in May, and Hankook reports that since the product was well received by consumers who shared positive reviews, it led to its complete sale, so it was decided to resume production.

The company adds that thanks to its technologies, it was able to bring the brand beyond the mobility sphere, and also actively implements various projects as part of its ESG strategy. Thus, in 2021, in conjunction with the Korean brand Yase, a line of eco-friendly shoes was presented, which uses materials from recycled tires, and in 2022, a similar project was implemented together with the Tread&Groove startup. In addition, in 2023, Hankook announced the development of tires for radio-controlled cars, which, like the Ball-Fit tips, are made from rubber left over from the production of racing tires.
