Goodyear returns to Imola for the European Le Mans Series round
This upcoming weekend, Goodyear will be participating in the third round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at the Imola circuit in Italy. 36 cars from the LMGT3, LMP2, and LMP2 Pro/Am classes, equipped with Goodyear Racing Eagle tyres, will take to the track.
This competition will be the first major start for most teams after the "24 Hours of Le Mans" marathon, where Goodyear supplied a record number of participants - 44 cars.
In Imola, teams will use Goodyear Racing Eagle tyres in Medium specification. The track features smooth asphalt and gentle turns, which creates less stress on the tyres compared to other circuits on the calendar. This reduces wear and makes pit stop strategy a crucial factor in the four-hour race. Engineers and teams will have to find a balance between stint length and the speed advantage provided by fresh sets of tyres.
