Goodyear introduced a new off-road tire
The Goodyear company continues to develop its off-road Discoverer line of the Cooper brand and adds a new model Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT, designed to provide high traction in difficult conditions, including when transporting and towing heavy loads. The Discoverer family has been on the market for over 30 years, and the Stronghold AT tires, as noted, will be well suited for those who use an off-road vehicle or pickup in their professional activities.
The novelty has a tread pattern with wide channels in the open shoulder areas, providing reliable traction on dirt and gravel surfaces and improving the self-cleaning ability of the tread, while narrower grooves are located in the central part, which improves stability. In addition, reinforced shoulder ribs with scoop-like walls and hook-shaped blocks on the sidewalls increase traction throughout the life of the tires, and the optimized arrangement of tread lugs reduces the likelihood of cracks and breaks.
Special steps are placed in the grooves to prevent stones from getting stuck in the tread, while the saw-toothed edges of the shoulder blocks improve traction on snow, and a special rubber compound in combination with wide transverse grooves improves handling on wet roads. The 3PMSF (three-peak mountain snowflake) marking on the sidewalls indicates that the tires are suitable for operation on snowy surfaces. "Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT is designed with a focus on reliability, and thanks to a unique tread with improved resistance to cuts, cracks, and breaks, the tires will help you unlock the full potential of your vehicle," said Jim Reese, Goodyear's category strategy and planning director. - The new tire is not inferior to its predecessor in terms of strength, but it has improved handling on dirt and gravel, tread durability, and traction in winter conditions, so it perfectly meets the expectations of buyers in its segment".
Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT has entered the US market in 28 sizes for wheels with a diameter of 16 to 20 inches and is suitable for installation on popular off-road vehicles in the region, such as Ram 2500, 3500 and ProMaster 3500, GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD, Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD, Ford F-250 and 350 Super Duty, Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, etc.
