Goodyear updates Cooper brand lineup
Not so long ago, Goodyear announced that after selling the rights to the Dunlop brand to the Japanese Sumitomo, the only brand of the company in the medium price segment of the European market (as well as in Africa and the Middle East) will remain Cooper, which will play a key role in the implementation of the strategy in the region. Now Goodyear has revealed information about which tires will be included in the updated Cooper brand line, and the company says that "thanks to significant investments in product development and based on the rich heritage of Cooper Tires, which has been leading since 1914, a wide range of tires of all seasonality for passenger and light commercial vehicles, as well as SUVs, will be offered under the brand".
The tread patterns of the new Cooper tires were taken from models from the Goodyear and Dunlop lines, and by January 2026, all size options for Cooper Summer and Cooper Summer Van tires with a design from Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 and Dunlop Econodrive LT will be released, respectively.
In the first quarter of next year, all-season Cooper All Season (such a pattern is also used by Dunlop All Season 2 and Debica Navigator 3) and Cooper All Season Van (design taken from Dunlop Econodrive AS) will be released, and by the middle of 2026, they will be joined by winter tires.
"A new chapter is beginning in the history of the Cooper Tires brand," said Ben Gleason, Director of Tire Development for the Consumer Sector of Goodyear in EMEA. "The brand is known for reliable tires that meet consumer expectations, and we will continue to produce strong and efficient tires under it, using proven technologies from our arsenal."
The tires will be available in over 500 sizes, and Gleason emphasizes that starting from 2026, the Cooper range will be both wide and deep and will be able to meet the changing needs of car owners.
The Cooper brand has strong positions in the market for SUV tires, and this segment will remain key in its development strategy, and one of the flagships of the line will still be the Cooper Discoverer AT/3 Sport 2 tire, available in 33 sizes.
"In 2026, Cooper Tires will stand out favorably in the mid-price segment with a line that includes tires with unchanged quality and reliability," Gleason stressed.
