Giti introduces new tires for electric vehicles
Giti Tire introduces new summer tires Giti GitiControl P10 Max to the Chinese market, which, as well as the model that served as the basis during developmentGitiControl P10, was specifically designed for electric vehicles, but while the P10 is aimed at passenger cars, this new model has been refined for use on large SUVs, off-road vehicles, and minivans.
As Giti notes, the electrification of the automotive industry has led to higher demands on tires in terms of parameters such as load capacity, noise levels, and wear resistance—especially relevant for vehicles with large dimensions and high weight. The P10 Max tires feature an HL (High Load) designation, meaning they offer increased load capacity compared to XL-rated tires, making them ideally suited for electric SUVs and minivans.
The P10 Max carcass is made from new high-strength materials, and the tyres feature reinforced sidewalls. Together with an improved sealing layer, this enhances tyre reliability under challenging road conditions. Additionally, wide longitudinal grooves ensure efficient water drainage, while chamfered block edges maintain a stable contact patch shape, improving handling during acceleration, braking, and high-speed cornering.

Since electric cars have silent powertrains, the acoustic properties of tires are of increased importance. For this reason, several noise-reduction technologies were implemented in the development of the P10 Max. A sound-absorbing material is placed inside the tire cavity, and the tread pattern design has been optimized to effectively dissipate impact energy, reducing vibrations and improving comfort.
Giti adds that electric cars are now commonly used not only in everyday life but also during long family trips and business trips, increasing demands on tyre durability. The rubber compound of the new tyres has been developed to enhance both grip and resistance to wear, while even pressure distribution in the contact patch prevents irregular wear and extends tyre service life. According to the manufacturer, laboratory tests have confirmed that the P10 Max tyres feature "excellent wear resistance" and are suitable for long journeys and frequent use.
Compared to the passenger P10, the load capacity of the tires has been increased by 21%, tread life has grown by 26%, and comfort level has improved by 4%. The P10 Max also features an enlarged protective rim at the lower sidewall, reducing the risk of wheel rim damage.
