Giti has upgraded two summer tires
Giti releases two summer tires with the word Evo in the name, which indicates that the models have not changed generation, and only the composition of the rubber mixture has been improved, which, however, did not prevent one of the novelties — GT Radial SportActive 2 Evo — from receiving a "Good" rating in the large test of Auto Bild, bypassing, for example, Bridgestone.
The manufacturer claims that SportActive 2 Evo is designed for "active control during sporty driving", and thanks to the new compound, the handling characteristics have been improved both on dry and wet surfaces. The steering has become more precise thanks to the optimized tread pattern design, which accelerates water dispersion, allowing the tires to behave more predictably in rainy weather.
In Auto Bild, it was noted that the new GT Radial tires provide a low cost per kilometer (based on the cost of tires and their mileage) and a high level of safety in any weather. The tires consistently performed at the level of competitors in many disciplines, and in the test for resistance to aquaplaning in a turn, they entered the top three along with premium products from Goodyear and Michelin.
"This is already the second time that SportActive 2 has earned a "Good" rating from Auto Bild, and this year the updated model has taken its place among several new premium-class tires without any problems, — noted Fabio Pecchi-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning in the Passenger and Light Truck Tires segment of the European Research and Development Center Giti. — The tire was also one of the quietest in the test, which is extremely important for electric vehicle owners».
The second novelty was GT Radial FE2 Evo, developed for "relaxed driving", and the modified rubber compound has improved braking and handling in various conditions, while the potential resource has increased by 4%, according to Giti.
To increase the service life, specially developed polymers were used, while the optimized tread pattern reduces noise, and in several key sizes, the tires have the EV Ready marking on the sidewalls, meaning they were created, among other things, for electric vehicles.
"In recent years, leading magazines have confirmed the reliability of GT Radial products and the stability of their characteristics, and such tires as SportActive 2, FE2 and [all-season] ClimateActive have all received a "Good" rating. We remain committed to developing and manufacturing tires that provide consumers with a high level of satisfaction and driving pleasure, while still offering an extremely favorable price-quality ratio", — said Pecchi-Boriani.
Both novelties from Giti were designed at the Giti Research and Development Center in Hanover, and SportActive 2 Evo is available in 19 sizes from 225/45 R17 to 255/35 R20, while FE2 Evo is available in 42 sizes from 185/65 R15 to 235/50 R18.
