General Tire introduced two new winter tires for Canada

In early February, General Tire held a presentation in Montreal for the new Arctic X line, which includes two tires developed specifically for the harsh conditions of the Canadian winter. The new General Altimax Arctic X is designed for passenger cars and crossovers, the General Grabber Arctic X for SUVs and pickups, and sales of both tires will start in Canada on March 1.

According to the manufacturer, both novelties are suitable for studding, are made from rubber compounds that maintain elasticity and efficiency at low temperatures, and also have directional tread patterns designed to provide stable traction in various winter conditions, including ice, snow, and slush.

"When we started developing the Arctic X line, our goal was to create winter tires that work confidently in the most difficult conditions," said Perry Fu, Pricing, Product and Marketing Analytics Manager at Continental Tires Canada. "From the advanced 'winter' compound to the directional tread geometry with a complex system of lamellas and an improved stud retention system - every element was specially designed to provide maximum control on ice, reliable traction on snow and optimal stability at temperatures significantly below zero."
