General Motors has chosen Continental tires for its electric crossovers

The standard equipment of the electric crossovers Cadillac Optiq and Chevrolet Equinox EV from General Motors includes all-weather touring tires Continental CrossContact RX with a diameter of 20 and 21 inches, designed for use on both asphalt and moderate off-road and snow-covered surfaces.

The tread pattern and profile of the Continental CrossContact RX have been optimized to improve traction in various weather conditions and reduce rolling resistance, meaning the tires will increase the range of electric vehicles, while the uniform arrangement of lamellas reduces noise levels and improves acoustic comfort. For GM, tires are supplied using ContiSeal technology, and a special sealing layer in the design allows for sealing punctures with a diameter of 6 mm and continuing movement.

On the Cadillac Optiq and Chevrolet Equinox EV, the tires are installed in sizes 245/50 R20 and 275/40 R21.
