Formula Drift and GT Radial Extend Partnership
After a successful 2024 season, the GT Radial brand (owned by Singapore-based Giti) has extended its sponsorship agreement with Formula Drift, one of the most prestigious drift championships in the world. By the end of the current year, GT Radial took second place in the FD tire supplier standings, behind Nitto (also participating in the season were Kenda, Kumho, Nexen, and Vitour).
In accordance with the new contract, GT Radial will sponsor Formula Drift until 2028 and will continue to supply tires to all Prospec teams until 2026, which, as the organizers note, "will allow participants to continue to evolve, knowing what budget they need and what level of efficiency they can expect from the tires".
"The extension of the contract between Formula Drift and GT Radial is great news for all championship participants, especially for teams that use the company's tires," said Ryan Sage, president of FD. "But that's not all, as our partnership ensures fair competition on the track, making the competition more interesting for teams and fans".
Next year, GT Radial plans to announce a partnership with teams in the Formula Drift Pro class and is currently in talks with leading participants to "have an even greater impact on the title fight".
