Former Pirelli manager starts working at SRO Motorsports Group
Paul Hembery, who spent many years working at Pirelli and was, among other things, the head of the company's motorsport department, thanks to which he is well known to Formula 1 fans, has become the new marketing director of SRO Motorsports Group - an international company that organizes and promotes various GT-class car racing championships.
In his new role, Hembery will be responsible for marketing, sales and communications, as well as overseeing SRO's large-scale program to develop the GT World Challenge racing series on four continents.
"We've known Paul for many years, and I admire his initiatives, which played a central role in transforming Pirelli from a tire manufacturer into a brand that symbolizes a certain lifestyle and enjoys worldwide recognition," said Stephane Ratel, founder and CEO of SRO. "There is no one who could better help us unlock the commercial potential of GT World Challenge powered by AWS."
Hembery became SRO's first global marketing director, which, according to the company, is an important step in implementing the strategy for international expansion.
"No other organization in the field of motorsport can compare with SRO in terms of global presence, which has become possible thanks to Stephane's vision and tireless efforts," he noted. "The company's growth has been impressive from year to year, and I'm glad to be helpful in the next stage."
Hembery took up his new post on December 1 and will work in SRO's London office.
