EAEU extends anti-dumping duties on Chinese truck tires

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Board has extended the validity period of anti-dumping tariffs on the import of Chinese truck tires until November 13, 2026, during the re-investigation, reports Finmarket.

The validity period of the duty was to expire on June 29, 2026, but an application was submitted to the Department of Protection of the Internal Market of the Commission, which, upon consideration, started a re-investigation on November 14, 2025. It should be completed within a year after the start, and during this time, the EEC has the right to maintain the existing tariffs.

The anti-dumping duty on the import of truck tires from China was introduced in 2015, and its validity period has been extended several times, the last time in 2021 until June 28, 2026. In 2023, the tariff also began to apply to assembled wheels.

The size of the anti-dumping duty varies from 14.79 to 35.35% of the customs value of the product, depending on the manufacturer.

The initiators of the re-investigation in 2025 were the Russian "Omskshina", "Cordiant" and the Nizhnekamsk Truck Tire Plant, as well as the Belarusian "Belshina", while the Russian ASHK and the Kazakhstani Tengri Tyres were listed as supporters of the application.

The applicants stated that, in their opinion, the cessation of the anti-dumping duty may lead to the continuation of dumping imports against the backdrop of a decline in demand in the EAEU (by 15% in the period from April 2024 to March 2025, according to the applicants' data) and a decrease in the load of production capacities (by 6%). It was also noted that "even taking into account the application of anti-dumping duties, the price of imported Chinese truck tires remained lower than the weighted average price of similar products produced in the EAEU".
