Giancarlo Fisichella — new brand ambassador for Vredestein
Apollo Tyres announced that former Formula 1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella has become the new ambassador of the Vredestein brand. The agreement with the Italian driver was signed for two years, and he will not only be present at various presentations but also participate in testing and development of new tires under the premium brand.
Fisichella and the tire company have been collaborating since June, when he led the Vredestein team during the classic 1000 Miglia race in Italy and drove a Simca Aronde S from 1953 along the route from Brescia to Rome and back, debuting as a brand ambassador.
Vredestein has been the official partner of 1000 Miglia since 2017, and after extending the sponsorship agreement in 2022, the brand is also involved in other competitions related to the famous race, such as 1000 Miglia Green, Coppa delle Alpi, and 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA.
"Giancarlo is highly respected among motorsport enthusiasts, making him an ideal fit as a Vredestein brand ambassador," noted Yves Pouliquen, Vice President of Apollo Tyres. "In addition, his extensive knowledge gained from many years of participating in top-level motorsports can help our development teams when launching new products and technical innovations."
Fisichella began his 13-year career in Formula 1 with the Minardi team, then drove for Jordan, Benetton, Sauber, Renault, Force India, and Ferrari, winning three Grands Prix. After that, the Italian participated in other competitions, including the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he and his team won the GTE-Pro class in 2012 and 2014.
