Tire brand Dunlop will become the first title partner in the history of the British Goodwood Revival festival, dedicated to historic motorsport, which will take place this year from September 18 to 20 under the official name Goodwood Revival presented by Dunlop.

Dunlop has long-standing ties with the Goodwood circuit and was one of its sponsors during its opening in 1948, after which it maintained this status throughout the 1950s and 1960s, placing its logos on the stands and pit lane, while since the start of the historic races in 1998, many cars have been equipped with tires of the same brand.

"Goodwood Revival is one of the most vibrant events dedicated to historic racing, and for this reason, the festival is ideal for Dunlop as a partner," said Dennis Vilstremann, Dunlop Tyre Europe Marketing Manager. "This collaboration creates an opportunity to showcase the brand in an environment where heritage and love for motorsport are paramount."

As a title partner, the company, in particular, will organize a VIP zone for guests and an exhibition of 600 m2 dedicated to the brand's products and history, as well as support the main race of the festival - the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration. This year's competition is expected to be very representative, with the participation of such famous drivers as 4-time Indy 500 winner Indy Helio Castroneves, as well as Formula 1 champions Jacques Villeneuve and Jenson Button. The two-hour race of GT class cars with a closed cockpit and several prototypes will recreate the golden age of the Goodwood circuit and will be the culmination of the festival.

The partnership with Goodwood Revival is also due to the fact that last year, the rights to the Dunlop brand in a number of regions of the world were acquired by the Japanese Sumitomo Rubber Industries, which is now actively promoting it. The new owner has brought the brand to the premium segment, and not so long ago, Dunlop has already become a partner of the Australian Open tennis tournament and a participant in the 24-hour race at the "Nurburgring".

According to Yasuaki Kuniyasu, President and CEO of Sumitomo, the festival was chosen because both Goodwood and Dunlop have obvious connections with the UK. "We will work closely with the organizers to emphasize the significance of the event and the enduring appeal of motorsport to a global audience, while developing our brand and increasing its value," he said.

Charles March (Duke of Richmond and Knight of the Order of the British Empire), the founder of the festival, stated that since Dunlop was one of the founding partners during the creation of the Goodwood circuit in 1948, cooperation with them is more than logical. "Dunlop has been a part of racing at Goodwood in some form for almost 80 years, and this new chapter in our partnership is a continuation of this tradition," he added.
