Dunlop SP Sport Maxx — for Lexus LS

Sumitomo Rubber Industries has homologated Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires for the Lexus LS vehicle. The new sedan will come factory-equipped with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A1 tires in size 235/50R18 97W and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 tires in size 235/45R19 98Y, according to the tire company's press release.
The tire was specially refined for use on the Lexus LS: engineers refined its internal structure to improve handling and maneuverability characteristics, as well as ride quality.
In developing the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tire, developers relied on the principles used in the design of sports tires. One of them is the presence of Kevlar fiber, which increases the stiffness of the sidewall, resulting in resistance to mechanical stress, heat, cracks, and more.
The rubber compound contains nanoparticles that have increased braking and acceleration performance, as well as elasticity and wear resistance of the rubber, which in turn has affected handling.
The company also notes that the tires were developed with environmental considerations in mind.
