For the Tesla Cybertruck, the wheel covers have been updated

After stopping the supply of original aerodynamic wheel covers for the Cybertruck in February of this year, Tesla has finally started installing modified design covers on the pickup, reports Electrek.

The reason for modifying the 7-spoke wheel covers was that, as owners discovered, they came into contact with the sidewalls of the tires, increasing their wear and even causing visible damage. It is believed that the problem was that during operation, under the influence of loads, the tires increased in size and the spokes of the covers came into contact with them during each rotation, increasing the degree of wear. After this became known, Tesla began supplying the Cybertruck without covers at all and recommended that owners remove them until further notice.

Some drivers reported that Tesla promised to make covers with a modified design available already in March, but this did not happen. Electrek notes that images of new covers did appear, which simply had the protruding parts of the spokes "cut off", but their design was not as impressive as the one that consumers had already become accustomed to, so this option was never delivered.

Now, however, images of a new wheel cover have appeared, which is visually almost identical to the original, but the central part protrudes less noticeably, and most importantly, the spokes have become slightly shorter, while the overall design concept has been preserved.
