Tires selected for Polestar 4: Hankook

Tires Hankook iON evo SUV have been selected as original equipment for the Polestar 4, an electric liftback from the brand currently controlled by the Chinese company Geely, the tire manufacturer's press service reported. 

For the Polestar 4, the tires are supplied in sizes 255/50 R20 and 255/45 R21. The selected model features iON Innovative Technology, designed to improve the balance between low rolling resistance—impacting electric vehicle range between charges—reduced noise, and high grip levels. Additionally, the tires have been specially tuned to handle the instantly available torque and increased weight of electric vehicles. The manufacturer states that a construction incorporating aramid fibers enhances steering responsiveness at high speeds. 

Besides the Polestar 4, the company also supplies tires for electric vehicles from other brands including Porsche, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Lucid, and Cupra. "Going forward, Hankook plans to continue expanding cooperation with global automakers and strengthening its position in the electric vehicle tire segment by leveraging its iON tire line—the first dedicated market-specific tire series developed specifically for electric vehicles," the company added.
