For the Mazda CX-80, tires of three models are approved

Three companies - Goodyear, Toyo, and Yokohama - announced in their press releases that they will supply tires for the Mazda CX-80, a new three-row crossover intended for the markets of Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and others.

Goodyear will supply the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance SUV tires for the CX-80, created by the company's European division specifically for premium and luxury crossovers and SUVs. The tires are designed to provide a high level of safety in all conditions, and special attention has been paid to improving ride comfort and reducing noise. The "MA" marking on the sidewalls indicates that the tires were developed for Mazda.

"We are very pleased to have participated in the development of tires for the Mazda CX-80," said Rami Elsaby, President and CEO of Goodyear's Japanese division, adding that the EfficientGrip Performance SUV tire "embodies our commitment to innovation and is able to enhance the driving experience."

Toyo Tire announced that it will equip the CX-80 with Toyo Proxes Sport tires in size 235/50 R20 from its flagship Proxes line, which, according to the company, boasts an improved balance of characteristics such as low rolling resistance, dry handling, wet traction, and good acoustic comfort.

In turn, Yokohama will outfit the new crossover with Yokohama ADVAN V61 tires in size 235/60 R18 (with load/speed indices 103V and 107V), which, according to the manufacturer, can provide optimal handling, improve ride smoothness, and reduce noise levels. Additionally, the V61 model has increased durability and "exceptional" resistance to aquaplaning, as well as low rolling resistance. The development of the tire utilized artificial intelligence technologies, which, in particular, helped optimize the tread pattern to reduce noise.

Yokohama notes that it continues to work on increasing sales of high-value-added products, and as part of this strategy, is actively expanding supplies of tires from the flagship ADVAN series in the original equipment segment.
