For Cupra Terramar, Hankook tires have been approved

The recently unveiled Cupra Terramar crossover comes equipped with Hankook Ventus evo SUV tires, which the manufacturer classifies as premium. Both the 18- and 19-inch tires, developed with a focus on improved comfort, and the 20-inch tires designed for the top-of-the-line vehicle versions with more sporty characteristics, have passed homologation. The sidewall marking featuring a plus sign indicates that the tires have been adapted to meet the requirements of the Volkswagen Group and can also be purchased on the secondary market.

The tires were developed over a period of two years, and according to Hankook, particular attention was paid to ensuring sporty handling without compromising acoustic comfort. It is noted that the development team was able to significantly reduce rolling noise thanks to the carefully designed tread pattern and special rubber compound, and the noise level is even lower than required by Cupra's standards. The tires are also manufactured using the Opti Pitch technology, which means that the arrangement and size of the tread blocks are optimized to reduce noise. Additionally, the optimal number of sipes in the outer and inner zones (Dual Pitch technology) improves handling sensitivity when cornering, while also considering the need to reduce noise, and the groove depth was determined to increase the level of acoustic comfort without compromising traction, braking efficiency, maneuverability, and maximum lifespan, the company adds.

During the homologation process, the tires were tested on special tracks with uneven surfaces and at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, where their resistance to wear and high speeds was evaluated.

For this reason, our premium summer tires, Ventus evo SUV, are perfectly suited for the Terramar," said Klaus Krause, Vice President and Head of the European Technical Center at Hankook. "Our collaboration with Cupra during the development process allowed us to ensure optimal tire properties in all available sizes, and we were able to make a significant contribution to enhancing the sporty qualities of the brand's latest model."

Hankook Ventus evo SUV tires are produced exclusively at the plant in Hungary and will be available to Cupra customers on all markets where the vehicle is represented. The available sizes are 235/55 R18, 255/45 R19, and 255/40 R20.
