Continental launches a new sport-touring motorcycle tyre
Continental is updating its offering in the sport-touring motorcycle tyre segment with the launch of a new model, the ContiMotion Evo. This tyre features several technical improvements over the original ContiMotion and, like its predecessor, is designed for riders seeking a motorcycle tyre that delivers an optimal balance between grip and durability.

One of the key differences with the ContiMotion Evo is the use of new materials in the carcass construction, which further enhance high-speed stability. Additionally, the company states that EasyHandling technology and an optimised structure provide more predictable responses to rider inputs. Furthermore, the new hybrid tread compound containing silica improves grip on both dry and wet surfaces while ensuring a long tyre service life.

According to Christoph Ettenhuber, head of Continental's motorcycle tyre division, the new model is a "versatile sport-touring tyre that offers intuitive handling and reliable grip in all conditions, while also delivering impressive longevity in everyday use." "The tyre has been modernised and enhanced across several key parameters, without losing the core, well-known characteristics of its predecessor," he added.

The tread pattern features diagonal grooves extending into the shoulder areas to accelerate water dispersion, as well as a wide central slick zone that increases tyre longevity. In addition, a broad contact patch enhances stability, while balanced carcass stiffness contributes to more predictable tyre behaviour.

The new tyre is suitable for both sporty riders and those undertaking long-distance motorcycle journeys. It can be fitted on models such as the BMW R12 nineT, Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati Supersport 950, Honda CB 650R, Suzuki GSX-8R, Yamaha MT-09 and others. It is also permissible to mix ContiMotion Evo and ContiMotion tyres on the same motorcycle.

"The ContiMotion Evo tyres are suitable for a wide range of popular naked bikes, roadsters, and modern classic motorcycles," noted Ettenhuber.
Continental ContiMotion Evo tyres have been available since September 2026 in one front size (120/70 ZR17) and two rear sizes (160/60 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17), with an additional rear size 190/50 ZR17 scheduled to launch in November.
