Continental is testing a method of invisible labeling of natural rubber
Continental and the digital tracing company Security Matters confirm the method of invisible marking of natural rubber with information about its geographical origin. This means that the origin of natural rubber can be verified at every stage of the supply chain, right up to the end consumer.
The labeling technology developed by the companies for natural rubber is designed to provide greater transparency throughout the entire tire and technical rubber goods creation chain at Continental.
For field testing, natural rubber grown as part of a joint project between Continental and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan was used.
