Continental presents a new winter tire

The company Continental has introduced new winter tires, the Continental NorthContact NC7, in Japan, which have been designed with a focus on both improving traction on snow and ice, and optimizing the level of comfort.

The novelty is made from a "Nordic" compound of the latest generation, which retains elasticity even at extremely low temperatures and increases safety in difficult conditions. Rapeseed oil has been added to the rubber mixture, which also helps the tires to remain soft in cold weather, and the manufacturer also emphasizes that the modified polymer mesh increases the elasticity of the tread, while improving its strength and resistance to deformation, while reducing rolling resistance.

NorthContact NC7 features an asymmetric tread pattern, the Gecko Grip Pattern 2.0, named after geckos, known for their ability to cling to almost any surface, and designed to provide optimal traction on snowy or icy roads, while the increased sidewall width increases the contact patch area and improves driving properties in various weather conditions.

Finally, the angle of the grooves and the scheme of the lamella placement have been optimized to reduce noise, which has increased the level of acoustic comfort.

Continental NorthContact NC7 will be released on the Japanese market on September 1 and will be produced in 45 sizes, from 175/65 R15 to 275/45 R21, and in the future, the lineup will be further expanded.
