Continental will supply tires for the support vehicles of the "Tour de France"

The official support vehicles of the A.S.O. (Amaury Sport Organisation) team, participating in the Tour de France, will be equipped with Continental PremiumContact 6 and EcoContact 6 Q tires, with the tire manufacturer placing a special emphasis on eco-friendly materials in its tire selection.

"We support the Tour de France's goals of increasing sustainability," commented Enno Straten, Head of Strategy, Analytics and Marketing at Continental Tires. "That's why we think it's fitting that the Tour's vehicles are riding on the latest and most eco-friendly tires that Continental has to offer right now."

The tires on the support vehicles feature ContiRe.Tex, a technology that uses polyester yarn in the carcass made from used PET bottles, which was first announced in August 2021. The yarn is produced without any intermediate chemical steps, and it is claimed that each set of tires contains around 40 recycled PET bottles.
