Continental recalls 540 passenger tires
Continental will recall 21-year-old tires Continental EcoContact 6 in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and France, as well as 519 winter studded tires Continental IceContact 3 in Norway and Sweden. All tires were manufactured at the plant in Korbach (Germany).
The company does not specify the nature of the defect, and it is only reported that the tires may suddenly lose pressure, and the non-compliance with specifications was identified during the quality control procedure. Continental has informed the authorized bodies of the countries where the recall will be carried out. All tires will be replaced free of charge.
In Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, EcoContact 6 tires in size 235/50 R19 produced during the 35th week of 2024 will be recalled, and in France - tires of the same size produced during the 25th week of 2024. At the same time, in Norway and Sweden, IceContact 3 tires in sizes 235/60 R18 and 245/45 R19 were recalled, which were released during the 25th and 39th weeks of 2024, respectively.
