What is "IKON TYRES"?

One of the strongest manufacturers of winter tires, Nokian Tyres, has decided to leave the Russian market and has sold its plant in Vsevolozhsk to the major manufacturer PJSC Tatneft, which already owns such brands as "Kama" and "Viatti". How will the new tires be produced under the "IKON TYRES" brand?

It is worth noting that the plant in Vsevolozhsk is rightfully considered the most advanced in Russia. This is due to the fact that Nokian made a focus on tire production in Russia, as 80% of the tires produced by the company were produced here. Now, Nokian is forced to look for opportunities to produce tires at other production sites, and according to unconfirmed information, negotiations are underway with the company that produces "KUMHO" tires at a plant in China. So, will Nokian's quality remain the same? This is also an interesting and open question.

So, Ikon tyres. The brand is new and a bit unusual, but what's important is not that, but the fact that the plant has remained intact. The modern equipment, specialists, and production technologies have been preserved. The only major question that arises is: "Where will the components be sourced from?" This is a substantial question, but the answer is quite simple. In the modern world of global production processes, tire components are not produced near the plant or only in the country where the plant is located. Global manufacturers of rubber, technical carbon, silica, preservatives, and plasticizers continue to supply their products all over the world. So, this factor is also closed.

The name and production volume of tires have changed, but the product, equipment, composition of key personnel, and approach to technological processes have not. Despite the changes, the company continues to produce high-quality tires, using the same approach to technological processes and maintaining the motivation of its employees.

Currently, Ikon Tyres produces Character and Autograph models. Next year, three types of products will appear on the market under the Nordman brand: Nordman 7, Nordman 8, and Nordman 9.
