What should be in every car
Recently, car trips have been gaining more and more popularity. In general, many good roads have been built and are still being constructed, equipped with lighting and convenient gas stations where you can rest. However, it is still necessary to be prepared for various troubles on the road. Traffic rules regulate the mandatory presence of a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and warning sign in the car. What else is recommended to take with you on the road?
We will talk about what can be useful to you in case of tire or wheel damage on the way.
Before the trip, it is essential to check if there is a jack in the car. Try it out in clean, dry weather and see in advance where you can place it under the car. If you get a puncture at night in the rain, it won't be very pleasant to search for the right spot by touch... To loosen the wheel, you will need a wrench. It's better to have a cross wrench, as it has a longer lever to loosen tightly tightened bolts. And if you have locking nuts installed, don't forget to take the key for them with you.
For quick tire repair, you can purchase a special kit. It will include special plugs and a tool for their installation. You won't need to disassemble the wheel; just remove the foreign object from the outside and use a needle to install the plug. And after that, you will need to inflate the tire to the recommended pressure. Nowadays, there is a wide range of compact compressors that work from the cigarette lighter and don't take up much space.
This basic "wheel safety" kit will allow you to continue driving in case of a puncture or damage and reach the desired place or at least a service station where professionals will inspect and repair your damage.
