Ceat has presented new tires Ceat SecuraDrive Circl, which is positioned as the first Indian tire ready for mass production, in the production of which up to 90% of eco-friendly materials are used - recycled or from renewable sources.

The novelty was developed at the Ceat research center in Halol (Gujarat) and, as the company says, is designed for urban middle-class or more affluent residents who "consider environmental protection not only as a duty, but also as a lifestyle and a status symbol".

SecuraDrive Circl is made using three patented Ceat technologies, and, for example, the hermetic layer is made of biopolymer, which, as noted, reduces harmful emissions during production, and glycerin-based vulcanization accelerators are used, replacing petroleum products. In addition, an anti-static material based on silica was developed to replace traditional tech carbon, which, as reported, provides dissipation of static electricity to improve safety.

According to Arnab Banerjee, CEO of Ceat, "SecuraDrive Circl is a breakthrough that confirms that India is capable of setting new standards in the field of sustainable mobility". "By increasing the share of eco-materials to 90% in tires that are fully ready for operation on public roads, Ceat is taking its environmental innovations to a new level as part of our desire to become a premium brand ready for future challenges", he added. - "Care for the environment is not a choice, but a duty, and the release of new tires confirms our desire to accelerate the development of eco-friendly mobility".

Ceat Marketing Director Lakshmi Narayanan B. stated that "today, consumers are increasingly consciously approaching the choice of goods, especially from the point of view of sustainable development, and by releasing SecuraDrive Circl, we offer them a product that meets their values and does not require sacrificing safety or aesthetics. Circl represents the perfect combination of innovative and environmentally conscious, and with the release of this tire, Ceat proudly sets a new standard for eco-friendly mobility".

The eco-tires will be available in versions with 50- and 90-percent "green" material content, which will be offered at a price of 8,999 and 12,999 rupees (103-148 dollars), respectively. Sales will start in September.

Ceat adds that SecuraDrive Circl joins other recently introduced innovative products, such as the company's first tire with a speed index of ZR (up to 240 km/h), CALM technology (an additional layer inside the tire reduces noise level) and Run-Flat tires.
