BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with Michelin tires
Michelin has signed a new supply agreement with Chinese BYD, the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, and will equip the new Sealion 7 electric crossover with its tires. The Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, specifically designed for electric vehicles, were chosen for the new model. According to the manufacturer, these tires are made using the most advanced technologies, which allow for optimal driving performance and improved energy efficiency.
As noted by Michelin, tire development is always a complex task, especially when it comes to electric vehicles, as they must not only provide maximum range without recharging but also withstand the loads associated with the high weight of the vehicle and the instantly available torque, as well as having a extremely low noise level.

The tires chosen for the Sealion 7 were created using the experience gained by Michelin during its participation in motorsports, as well as the results of more than 10 years of cooperation with the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturers.
The central part of the Pilot Sport EV tread is made from a more rigid rubber compound (ElectricGrip Compound), which increases traction when subjected to high torque, and the developers also increased the wear resistance of the tires, while the layer of polyurethane foam inside the tire cavity reduces noise in the car's cabin (Acoustic technology).

Previously, Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires were homologated for vehicles such as the Porsche Macan and Xiaomi XU7.
