Brisa suspected of violating antimonopoly laws
The Turkish antimonopoly regulator (Rekabet Kurumu) has launched an investigation into the tire company Brisa (a joint venture between Bridgestone and Sabanci Holding), which is suspected of violating legislation in the field of regulating the competitive environment.
In Brisa, it was reported that they were informed about the investigation, which will affect the company's activities during the production and distribution of tires. The regulator must determine whether the manufacturer has violated the law on protecting competition in terms of price collusion, control over market supplies, or actions that restrict or hinder the activities of other companies.
The tire company emphasizes that the start of the investigation does not imply a violation of laws and does not necessarily lead to criminal sanctions.
The tire manufacturer also stated that it is required to report on the conduct of such investigations in accordance with Turkish capital markets legislation.
