Bridgestone has introduced new truck tires, Bridgestone M-Steer 002 and Bridgestone M-Drive 002 (for steering and drive axles, respectively), designed specifically for transport operated on both asphalt and moderate off-road conditions.

Both novelties are made from new rubber compounds, which, in particular, increased their resource, and the manufacturer notes that the increase in wear resistance is up to 20% compared to the previous generation tires: Bridgestone M-Steer 001 and Bridgestone M-Drive 001 (based on the results of internal tests of tires with a size of 315/80 R22.5)

The Bridgestone M-Drive 002 tire has a modified tread pattern with deep channels, optimized for both improved traction on off-road and efficient operation throughout its entire lifespan. In addition, both new models are distinguished by improved resistance to cuts, chips, and other damage, and rolling resistance has been reduced by more than 10%, which increases fuel efficiency, and fleets can further reduce their costs.

Both tires are designed for multiple retreading, which increases their lifespan, also reducing the expenses of transport companies. In addition, the amount of waste is reduced, and in general, such an approach, as they say in Bridgestone, helps both carriers and automakers achieve their environmental goals.

According to Wakkas Ahmad, Director of Truck Tire Sales at Bridgestone EMEA, the new models "have increased durability, allowing them to be used in various conditions from asphalt and gravel to sand and mud". "We are confident that the innovations that underlie the creation of new tires not only provide exceptional tire efficiency but also create additional benefits that will allow fleets to reduce costs and automakers to improve their environmental performance in the long term," he added.

Tires for mixed operating conditions occupy a place between models for regional transportation and off-road tires, and Bridgestone emphasizes that they will continue to "create innovative and environmentally friendly solutions to improve the operational characteristics of products for this segment".

The development of new tires was carried out in Europe, and Bridgestone M-Steer 002 will be available in three sizes: 315/80 R22.5, 13 R22.5, and 385/65 R22.5, while Bridgestone M-Drive 002 will be available in two sizes: 315/80 R22.5 and 13 R22.5. The tires will enter the European market in January 2025, after which additional sizes will be introduced.
