Bridgestone won the lawsuit against Chinese lubricant manufacturers

Bridgestone announced that the Supreme People's Court of Jiangsu (China) ruled in favor of the company in a case of trademark infringement and unfair competition law. The lawsuit was filed against Qinghe County Dongsheng Lubricating Oil Co., Ltd. and Wuxi Liyuan Lubricating Oil Co., Ltd., as well as several other defendants.

Bridgestone filed the lawsuit in April 2021 after it was discovered that the defendants were using the company's Chinese name (普利司通) in the production and sale of lubricants, and in June, the court ruled that the trademark was used illegally, and the lawbreakers must pay compensation of 2.5 million yuan (350,000 dollars).
