Bridgestone first developed tires for motor homes
Japanese Bridgestone is present in many market segments, but the company's lineup previously lacked special tires for motorhomes, and in 2026, this niche will be filled by the new all-season Bridgestone Duravis Camper All Season, which, according to the manufacturer, combines universality and suitability for use at any time of the year with increased durability and adaptability to electric vehicles.
In the EU labeling system, the tire received the highest rating of A for wet grip, and its effectiveness on snow is confirmed by the 3PMSF marking, and the company says that the developers have improved the performance in rainy weather with the help of a rubber compound with a high silica content and enlarged transverse grooves in the shoulder areas, while the optimized tread stiffness reduces the braking distance on dry roads, and the directional V-shaped tread pattern should help the tires work effectively on snowy surfaces.
"Those who use motorhomes, whether solo travelers or families, are primarily concerned with a high level of safety and the absence of any problems, whether it's a weekend trip or a 'trip of a lifetime'," said Stefan Sancini, Vice President of Bridgestone in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). "The new tire is designed with these requirements in mind, and its use allows customers to experience unforgettable adventures at any time of the year."
According to the manufacturer's statements, the tires were designed to withstand increased loads and are therefore equipped with a reinforced carcass construction. In addition, the tread pattern has been optimized taking into account that motorhomes can remain stationary for long periods, and the CP (Camping Pneu) marking indicates that the tire was specifically designed for motorhomes.
To increase the mileage of the tires, the tread stiffness has been increased and the evenness of the contact patch distribution has been improved, and a protective rib is placed on the sidewalls, reducing the likelihood of damage from curb impacts. For economy, the tires received a rating of B, i.e. low rolling resistance increases fuel efficiency, and the Enliten technology was used, which, according to Bridgestone, allows improving various product characteristics while making it more environmentally friendly and ensuring optimal suitability for use on electric vehicles.
Bridgestone Duravis Camper All Season tires were developed at the company's scientific and technological center in Italy and will be available in Europe starting from June 2026 in four sizes with a rim diameter of 15 and 16 inches.
