Bridgestone will cut over 500 jobs at its tire plants in Spain

Bridgestone Hispania Manufacturing has officially notified the worker representatives of its intention to start a collective dismissal procedure. The procedure will affect the plants in Puente San Miguel (Cantabria), where agricultural and radial tires for trucks and buses are produced, and Basauri (Basque Country), where radial tires for trucks and buses are produced.

According to company representatives, this news follows "profound changes taking place in the European tire market", and has led to the "need to adapt the company's production structure".
