Bridgestone introduced new all-season tires UltraWeather
Tires that could be used year-round by drivers throughout Russia still do not exist (although one Japanese development may, so to speak, turn the game around), and in North America, this is a very common type of tire, and in 2026, a novelty in this segment is presented by the Japanese Bridgestone.
New tires called Bridgestone UltraWeather are designed for a wide range of vehicles from passenger cars and crossovers to minivans, SUVs, and pickups, and are manufactured using the Enliten technology developed to make the product more environmentally friendly while maintaining a high level of other characteristics. Thus, the tires are distinguished by reduced rolling resistance, which allows increasing fuel or energy efficiency, as well as reduced weight, which helps conserve resources.
Open water-draining channels in the shoulder sections were included in the tread pattern, accelerating water drainage from the contact area and reducing the risk of aquaplaning, while the 3PMSF marking confirms that the tires can provide acceptable traction on snowy surfaces. In-house tests were conducted, which showed that the new Bridgestone outperforms competitors in terms of braking performance on snow, and the advantage over Goodyear WeatherReady 2 and Pirelli WeatherActive was 14 and 2%, respectively. Compared to the Bridgestone WeatherPeak, the previous generation model, braking efficiency increased by 10%.
The tire life has also been increased, and the warranty mileage is 97,000 km, and the patented PeakLife polymer and continuous central rib helped make the tires more durable. In addition, eco-materials such as soybean oil were used, the application of which reduces the consumption of petroleum products and increases the elasticity of the rubber mixture, and the tread pattern was improved to reduce noise.
According to Dale Harrigle, Senior Engineer at Bridgestone Americas, responsible for developing tires for the consumer sector, the new tire is ideal for long trips and "allows drivers to feel confident regardless of the weather forecast". "By integrating Enliten technology, we have created a tire with a great balance between reliable traction in any weather and environmental friendliness, surpassing its predecessor," he added.
Bridgestone UltraWeather tires are available in 61 sizes with a rim diameter from 16 to 22 inches and can be installed on popular North American vehicles such as the Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Highlander, and Volkswagen Taos.
