Bridgestone recalls 88 thousand van tires

Bridgestone is recalling around 87,800 light truck tires Bridgestone Duravis R660 Eco in size 215/65 R16C, which were produced at the Brisa plant in Kocaeli (Turkey) from the 43rd week of 2023 to the 44th week of 2025 and were part of the standard equipment of Ford Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom minivans for the 2024-2025 model years.

The company's statement says that the recalled tires have an increased tendency to form cuts and punctures, due to which, as a result of moisture entering the structure, corrosion of the breaker strip may occur, which, during prolonged operation, creates a likelihood of deformation and further separation of the tread, increasing the risk of an accident.

"We are actively interacting with the relevant authorities, partners, and customers to organize a free tire replacement," Bridgestone said, adding that "our top priority remains ensuring customer safety."
