Bridgestone equips the Toyota Platinum 7 electric sedan with its tires
Bridgestone has become the tire supplier for the luxury electric sedan Toyota Platinum 7, introduced by the GAC Toyota joint venture, which, according to the tire company, demonstrates its commitment to development in the rapidly growing Chinese electric vehicle market.
According to the manufacturer's statement, the production of the Platinum 7 uses more than 80 sound-absorbing materials, which, in combination with two-layer laminated glass in all side windows, provide a low noise level in the cabin of 69 dB at a cruising speed of 100 km/h. Considering the need to improve acoustic comfort, Bridgestone Turanza 6 tires are supplied for the electric vehicle, which, first, have a tread pattern with S-shaped grooves and special noise reducers, and second, are made using the B-Silent technology, i.e., sound-absorbing foam is attached to the inner side.

The eco-technology Enliten was also used, and the tires are partially made of "unique recyclable materials", while the innovative rubber mixing process allowed increasing wear resistance without compromising traction, also reducing resource consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, add Bridgestone.
