The Australian company Asiatech has developed a project under which a factory for the production of automobile tires may appear in the Tashkent region in the near future. Moreover, its construction may begin as early as the first months of next year.
In the beginning of 2013, all founding documents should be signed, financing opened, and construction begun. Everything is already ready for this: as early as September of last year, a contract was signed between CITIC Ltd and "Uzkhimprom" under which equipment necessary for the construction of the new factory was delivered to Uzbekistan. The cost of the deal is not disclosed.
The project will be implemented over a period of four years. After the opening of the enterprise, its capacity was planned at the initial stage to be 1.5 million automobile tires and 200,000 tires for agricultural machinery, but now this target has been increased and currently the target is 3 million automobile tires per year.
The Chinese company Linglong Rubber Co. will take part in the construction of the factory, which signed a contract with the State Corporation "Uzkhimprom" this summer.
The cost of the factory project is $230 million. It is noted that the new factory will meet the needs of the "Samarkand Automobile Factory".
