ASHC is mastering a new model of aircraft tires
On March 10, the Altai Tire Plant manufactured the first experimental sample of an aircraft tire for the nose landing gear of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, which successfully passed hydraulic tests and was transferred for further bench testing.
To produce the prototype, a new hydraulic vulcanizer with a sectoral mold was involved, and the company reports that "to date, the first sample has confirmed the feasibility of the design, which brings domestic aviation closer to independence from imported components".
Earlier, AShK had already received a SGI (Certificate of Conformity of a Component Product) for tires for the support bases of the SSJ-100 landing gear, and when the new model passes certification - which is expected to happen by the end of 2027 - the enterprise will be able to fully replace imported tires for the Russian aircraft.
