ASHK tested new aircraft tires

LLC "YASHZ Avia", integrated into the Altai Tire Plant (ATP), has successfully passed tests for compliance with Russian standards of new radial aircraft tires without cameras for the front and rear supports of the MC-21 aircraft chassis and the main support of the RRJ-95 aircraft chassis from the Sukhoi Superjet 100 family.

The development of the first civilian aircraft tire from ATP was started in 2016 and "received a special impulse in 2022, when the issue of import substitution in the aviation industry became critically important for domestic industry", the company said, adding that the 1050х385R482 size tire meets all the requirements of the customer - JSC "Yakovlev".

Preliminary tests were conducted in China in 2023, which allowed to adjust the WCD (working design documentation) for tires for the front and main supports of the MS-21 chassis. Thanks to this, in 2025, the tires showed a positive result in qualification tests, which were also carried out in China.

The successfully passed tests allow to move on to the next stage of work, and after receiving a certificate of airworthiness, tires of sizes 1050х385R482 mod. 1A, 770х240R-356 mod. 1A and 1260х450 R-559 mod. 1A can be launched into serial production.

"The exit to the final straight in obtaining the CAGI (certificate of suitability of a component product) for the tires of our enterprise is another contribution to the development of domestic aircraft construction, the pinnacle of which is the aircraft in the final assembly shop. This strengthens Russia's position in the field of aviation technology production", said Vladimir Balabanov, General Director of ATP.

It is also reported that the specialists of the plant have started the initiative development of a tire for the front support of the chassis of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft family, and the first sample is planned to be manufactured this year.
