Zelda Surate Ice03 — a model for drivers who need predictable handling, both in dense city traffic and on suburban highways. This is a friction model designed to protect against lateral skidding, stable traction on snow and ice, as well as refined steering response.
Tread specification
The tread is of the non-directional type, and the key element here is the two differently sized ring elements in the center. From an engineering point of view, this is the basis of the tire. The continuous "ribs" are responsible for the minimum response time to steering wheel rotation. They dampen play and give the car a clear trajectory even on loose surfaces.
Lamellas and block structures
From the central ribs, at an angle, there are zones with blocks. The blocks have thin but deep lamellas cut into them. When maneuvering or braking, they open up, creating hundreds of additional edges. It is they that provide stability under lateral loads, reducing the risk of skidding. The angle of divergence of the blocks is calculated so that the traction force vectors work simultaneously, both longitudinally and transversely.
Diagonal channels
In winter, not only ice but also water film and slush are dangerous. The tire was designed with diagonal grooves of high capacity. When entering the contact patch, water and snow slush do not compress in front of the tire, but instantly move to the sides. This gives predictable behavior of the vehicle.
Elasticity without hardening
The base is a polymeric compound with the addition of silicon dioxide and a package of low-temperature additives. Silica creates a flexible microstructure that maintains the mobility of macromolecules even at -30 C. Additives further reduce friction between filler particles, which reduces internal heat generation and, as a consequence, wear. As a result, the tire remains elastic.
Key features of the Zelda Surate Ice03:
- non-directional tread with continuous ribs provides responsive handling and directional stability on the road;
- an extensive network of lamellas forms a multitude of engaging edges for confident braking and maneuvering;
- block structures stabilize the tire during turns, reducing the risk of lateral skidding;
- drainage channels quickly evacuate water and slush from the contact patch, neutralizing hydroplaning;
- a compound with silica and low-temperature additives maintains elasticity in the cold and slows down wear.
