Description Yokohama V35A
The Yokohama V35A summer tire is designed for sports crossovers that are exclusively driven on paved roads. This model is one of the flagships of the Advan line and is also part of the factory equipment of the Porsche Cayenne. It is characterized by balanced driving properties, demonstrating, in addition to sporty handling, stability on dry and wet surfaces, fuel efficiency, and acoustic comfort.
Winter use capability
This model is one of the few in the Advan line to have the M+S marking, which means it can be used, including in winter. To a large extent, this is ensured by the design of the tread pattern, which was developed in cooperation with Porsche engineers. It is executed asymmetrically, representing a combination of wide longitudinal ribs and blocks. All of these elements have a high density of lamellas. Moreover, in the shoulder areas, they have so-called "activators", additional cuts that open the lamellas across the entire surface of the blocks when contacting the road surface. In combination with the "three-dimensional" profile of the vertical walls of the cuts, this solution significantly improves traction properties on any slippery surface, enhanced by the use of a rubber compound that retains high elasticity at low temperatures.
Sporty handling
The tire was developed for the most dynamic crossover and SUV models. A significant part of the solutions used in it was borrowed from road-racing tires. In particular, the tread profile with a nearly flat central part, providing control during straight-line driving, and increasing curvature of the shoulder areas, maintaining it during maneuvering. The effectiveness of this solution is additionally enhanced not only by the solid longitudinal ribs in the middle and edges of the tread pattern but also by the structure of the breaker and carcass, as well as the profile and construction of the sidewalls, which have a calculated mobility under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces.
Key features of Yokohama V35A
- improved traction properties on wet and snowy surfaces due to the multitude of lamellas and the use of a rubber compound with increased elasticity at low temperatures;
- rigid longitudinal ribs in the center and edges of the tread, optimized tread profile, special breaker and carcass structure, and sidewall construction provide uncompromising stability and handling precision at any speed;
- a special rim design provides a very tight fit on the wheel disk, eliminating its rotation and slipping during extremely high loads
