The Yokohama Neova AD09 summer tire is designed for sports cars. It represents a universal model, suitable for use on both public asphalt roads and racing tracks during "track days". It is distinguished by its uncompromising grip and handling at extremely high speeds, resistance to abrasive wear and tears.
The tire's tread has a "sports" profile, which is almost flat in the central part and sharply changes curvature in the shoulder areas. This significantly expands the contact patch, giving it a nearly rectangular shape. Such features improve the tire's grip properties, maintaining them during dynamic maneuvering, ensuring ease of handling and increasing the tread's resistance to abrasive wear.
These properties are enhanced by the design features of the tread pattern. It contains massive blocks on the edges and a very wide solid rib in the middle. The drainage grooves located between the elements, in addition to their increased size, have a curved shape, which further increases the intensity of water removal from under the contact patch, providing excellent resistance to aquaplaning. In such conditions, the grip is significantly improved due to the increased elasticity of the tread, made from a rubber compound based on natural rubber and "silica".
Key features of the Yokohama Neova AD09
- The "sports" tread profile improves grip, provides ease of handling, and prevents uneven tire wear;
- The tread pattern with massive elements ensures reliable grip properties at any speed;
- The rubber compound with a high "silica" content improves traction and braking intensity on wet surfaces
