Winter tire for passenger cars Yokohama Guardex F720 was developed taking into account the specific climate conditions of Japan, differing in a fairly unusual set of operational properties. The model stands out for its increased grip on wet, snowy and icy surfaces at temperatures around "zero" degrees Celsius, while offering the "signature" features of this brand's tires - damage-resistant sidewalls and a long service life.
The tread pattern consists of a large number of blocks. In the central part, they overlap each other, forming a continuous longitudinal rib. This composite element increases the stability of grip when driving at high speeds, providing greater steering accuracy, as well as reducing rolling resistance. The blocks located on the edges of the tread form elongated transverse edges, which increases traction and braking intensity on wet and snowy surfaces. It is also worth noting the beveled edges of the elements and the presence of special protrusions on them. In combination with the special design of the grooves, this allows the tread to capture and hold snow, which significantly increases the grip with the road surface in such conditions. Efficiency on more slippery winter surfaces is provided by thousands of sharpened edges of a wavy shape, formed by "three-dimensional" lamellas, which are cut into all, without exception, tread blocks. They are located almost perpendicular to the direction of movement, due to which these elements increase, first of all, traction and braking properties.
