Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G012 appeared in 2006, replacing the previously popular Geolandar A/T G011 model. The previous model had been on the market for a long time, proving itself to be excellent.
The Yokohama G012 tire is designed for installation on large SUVs, and the A/T abbreviation means that these tires are all-season and can be used in harsh conditions.
Difference from Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S G011
The new model from Yokohama differs from the previous one by the presence of larger circular grooves, which contribute to the drainage of water from under the contact patch, significantly reducing the risk of aquaplaning. The G012 model uses the DAN2 technology, which allows optimizing the tread blocks.
The durability of the tread has been increased due to the use of three-dimensional grooves. The acoustic comfort of the Geolandar tire is excellent. The tire does not make noise thanks to the rounded blocks. The load on the tire is distributed evenly, which increases its wear resistance and allows it to be used for a long time.
Unlike the previous model, the Yokohama G012 handles 20% better on the road. This was achieved by dispersing the blocks in size. The five-step method also made it possible to reduce the noise generation level.
