The Yokohama Geolandar A/T G012 appeared in 2006, replacing the popular Geolandar A/T G011 model of the past. The previous model was on the market for a long time, having proven itself in the best possible way.
The Yokohama G012 tire is designed for installation on large SUVs, and the A/T abbreviation means all-season and off-road use.
Difference from Yokohama Geolandar A/T G011
The new model from Yokohama differs in the presence of larger circular grooves that contribute to the drainage of water from under the contact patch, which significantly reduces the risk of aquaplaning. The G012 model uses the DAN2 technology, which allows optimizing the tread blocks.
The durability of the tread was increased due to the use of three-dimensional grooves. The acoustic comfort in the Geolandar tire is excellent. The tire is not noisy thanks to the rounded blocks. The load on the tire is distributed evenly, which increases its wear resistance and allows for long-term use.
Compared to the previous model, the Yokohama G012 handles 20% better on the road. This was achieved by dispersing the blocks in size. The five-step method also reduced the noise generation level.
