The summer passenger tire Yokohama E70D is distinguished, first and foremost, by its specialization. This model was developed specifically for passenger cars of the D-class. Its main target audience is owners, primarily of Japanese mid-size sedans, who will certainly appreciate the perfectly balanced combination of sporty handling and high comfort level. This was achieved through the use of the most modern technologies and materials in the design of this tire.
Wide longitudinal rib in the center
A large part of the central part of the tread is occupied by a wide longitudinal rib. This element, due to its continuous design and massive size, improves several operating properties at once. First and foremost, this is directional stability, maneuverability, and fuel efficiency. The numerous slots in it also perform several functions at once. One of them is to reduce the level of resonant noise and vibrations. Additionally, these miniature elements direct excess water into the drainage grooves, which increases resistance to aquaplaning.
Massive transverse blocks in the shoulder zones
In turn, the key element of the shoulder zones' design is the numerous transverse blocks, which are characterized by significant width. This design feature is also aimed at improving several operating characteristics at once. First and foremost, this is an increase in stability when cornering. Additionally, the transverse edges of the contact patch formed by them, together with the increased rigidity of the shoulder blocks, significantly reduce the braking distance and also allow for more confident acceleration, engaging almost the entire potential of the powerful engine of the business sedan.
Main features of the Yokohama E70D tire
- the tire was developed specifically for mid-size sedans and wagons, primarily of Japanese brands;
- excellent directional stability and quick responses to steering wheel turns thanks to the continuous design and massive size of the central longitudinal rib;
- excellent grip in corners, short braking distance, excellent acceleration dynamics, especially on wet roads, thanks to the wide transverse blocks in the shoulder zones;
- high resistance to aquaplaning thanks to the wide longitudinal grooves with polished walls and numerous transverse channels.
